Although it’s wonderful to have the conversations of resolution, the resolution is difficult to realize outside of our own individual reconciliation with our Heavenly Father. A son and daughter have to first take care of their daddy issues before their heart can reflect His toward their brother.
God so loves you. He went to such an extreme to show His love, that He gave His only son for you. This is now the greatest standard of love, and that love is 100% focused on you. However, it’s now our responsibility to focus our love, attention, and affection back toward Him.
Paul is telling Timothy not to worry about what everyone else is doing, but to focus on competing for himself. When we stop living life in spite of, or in competition with others, but live with the intention of receiving the prize God has for us, we begin to live worthy of the call God has placed within us.
God says that He “magnifies His word above His name.” This means that His name is good because His word is good. Seeking earthly solutions for earthly problems will always fail, but our hope will always be secured when we declare the word of God in the midst of our trial.
